2004 Bike Week    Gettysburg, PA    The Bikes Come to the Battlefield! We traveled to Gettysburg, PA for Bike Week 2004, and it was awesome! The Battle of Gettysburg was the turning point of the Civil War, and the town of Gettysburg, the National Cemetary (site of President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address),  and the National Military Park in the surrounding countryside takes you back in time. The Motor Company builds Harley Davidsons right up the road in York, PA, so as you might guess, this is Harley Country! The Blue Ridge Parkway-North  Virginia We depart from the northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway at Rockfish Gap and wind our way south through Virginia along the  world-famous Blue Ridge Parkway for about 200 miles. The Blue Ridge Parkway-South North Carolina We depart from Fancy Gap, VA, just north of the NC border, and work our way south for approximately 260 miles to Cherokee, North Carolina. Along the way we ride the high country of North Carolina, including a side trip up Mount Mitchell - the highest mountain in the USA east of the Mississippi River.  What's this ride like? Think tunnels, lots of curves, mountain vistas, and the best scenery North Carolina has to offer! Talimena Winding Stair	Oklahoma - Arkansas
	Nobody much thinks of mountains when they think of Oklahoma. I never did, until I discovered the Talimena Winding Stair National Scenic Byway! This ride takes us from the beginning of the byway outside of Talihina, OK, across the ridgetops to Mena Arkansas. The views are incredible; who would ever believe this is the midwest?  The road is pretty incredible too, with all the twists and turns you could ask for, and elevation changes that let you ride through three seasons if you catch it at the right time of year!  If you're based in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas, or Missouri; or if you're traveling across this area, don't miss this ride! You might even catch me up here, because I ride here every chance I get!

Big Bend Texas Status: In Production Did you think there's not  much wilderness left in the USA? You might reconsider after taking a look at the wide open rugged land of the Big Bend country of southwestern Texas.  Once I thought of deserts as places to be avoided, but after discovering the Chihuahuan high desert of southwest Texas, I had to change my mind! In fact, this has become my #1 favorite place to go to get away from the rat race and traffic and telephones. Your cell phone won't work here and there's not a real town within 100 miles.  The views are unmatched, the roads are wonderful, and you won't run out of things to see and do if you head down this way. From mountain vistas and turns so tight they don't allow travel trailers, to wide open spaces where you can literally see for miles and miles, Big Bend has it all!    In production. Coming Soon!
